Bowa Construction is providing general contracting services for
LYTE Collective’s new LYTE Lounge, a community center
dedicated to providing social services for Chicago’s youth in
situations of poverty and homelessness. The nearly 13,000 SF
renovation includes the conversion of two existing, connected
buildings into the new community center and will boast a music
studio, library and workspace; exercise room; creative room;
lounge; community room; performance stage; educational spaces
including a computer lab; conference room; and flexible
workspace. Additional scope of work includes the removal of
existing finishes and boiler heating systems, as well as installation
of new partitions, wall and ceiling finishes; forced air heating and
cooling systems; electrical and plumbing upgrades; new
membrane roofing systems; new exterior windows; and select
building facade replacement.
