The City of Chicago funded project, Green Reentry Project was launched at the beginning of 2010 and sought to convert vacant, foreclosed and vandalized properties within the Chicago Lawn Community. The goal of the project was to transform these spaces into vibrant, environmentally sound (green) transition housing. Our client Inner-City Muslim Action Network (IMAN) is using the renovation of these homes to provide on-the-job training for formerly incarcerated individuals and the completed homes to provide housing for individuals reentering society.
Bowa Construction was proud to be chosen as the general contractor on this project. We provided job training to six selected individuals in the neighborhood.
Scope of Work included:
• Completed renovation of a 5,000 sf multi family unit that had been vacant and abandoned for years
• Installation of “Rain Buckets”
• All material used was green approved
